Simple Homemade cranberry sauce

We like this and as far as we are concerned it's much better than any other. I like that you can play with the ingredients and make it your own. It works just as well jellied (put the cooked berries through a strainer or food mill) or whole berries.

A bag of fresh cranberries
1 cup of water (We like it with 1/2 a cup)
1 cup of sugar (We like 1/2 cup)

Dissolve the sugar in the water on the stove top under medium heat.
Add the cranberries.
Return to a boil.
Simmer on low for a bit (till most of the berries have popped).

Transfer to a covered serving bowl.
Chill over night.

Run it through your food mill (or push it through a strainer for jellied cranberry sauce.

Simple, easy and yummy!

try putting orange pieces (maybe a little rind) or anything else you feel like...

enjoy...

A family that cooks together makes for great holiday stories!!!
